BACK IN THE DAY!

EastEnders Frist Aired On Feb 19 1985 Eastenders Only Aired 2 A Week On Tuesday's And Thurdays At 19:00 Clashing With Emmerdale (Known Then As "Emmerdale Farm") In August 1985, It Moved To 19:30 So It Never Clashed.



On April 11 1994 They Moved From 2 Episodes A Week To 3 Episodes,  On August The 6 2001 They Added A Extra Episode A Week, On A Friday, This caused some controversy as it clashed with Coronation Street, which at the time was moved to 20:00 to make way for an hour long episode of rural soap Emmerdale at 19:00 The move immediately provoked an angry response from ITV insiders, who argued that the BBC's last-minute move—only revealed at 15:30 on the day—broke an unwritten scheduling rule that the two flagship soaps would not be put directly against each other. In this first head-to-head battle, EastEnders claimed victory over its rival, From 2003 BBC Viewers Could Watch The Episodes On There BBC THREE Channel Before It Was Aired On BBC ONE, On The Channel The BBC Reached 1.3 Million To Watch Marks F Exit, In Feb 2005 Newspapers said that EastEnders May Be Axed, Due To Filming Problems, The BBC Later Denied This.
